 Lake Carey - July 30, 2006

Today we held our first of three open bass tournaments at Lake Carey and what a GREAT DAY it was for our club.

Once again, mother nature blessed us with a beautiful day and the fishing gods allowed for some nice bags.  Here are today's highlights and summary:

  • We had 21 teams or 42 anglers participate
  • A total of 82 fish (20 smallies and 62 Largemouths were weighed)
  • Of the 82 fish caught only two were brought in dead, and
  • The tournament raised $262 for the Club's 2007 State Team.
Here are the top three teams and their weights:
  • 1st place went to Miller / Durkas with a weight of 13.23 (payout of $368)
  • 2nd place went to Sholtes / Santarelli with a weight of 12.64 (payout of $263)

  • Lunker went to Miller / Durkas with a weight of 2.57 (payout of $210)
I would like to extend a thank-you to Brian Lynott, Tom LoRusso and Scott Domozych who assisted with livewell checks and parking.

A special thank-you needs to be extended to Travis Swartwood.  Although he did NOT fish the tournament, he volunteered his time by assisting me with check-ins, the board and tracking the stats.  Travis worked the launch from 3:00am until 5:30am and then came back to help with the weigh-ins at 1:30pm until 3:00pm.  If it wasn't for Travis, the morning would NOT have been a success.
